Diesel Heater Hire

Heaters for Construction, Industry & Events

Diesel space heaters are robust & portable industrial heaters, designed for heating large spaces. They feature an internal fuel tank, a trolley mounted frame for portability and an internal fan which circulates the warm air produced by the heater. There are two types of diesel space heater and we have both types available for hire - direct fired diesel heaters and indirect fired diesel heaters.

Direct Fired Diesel Space Heaters

Direct fired diesel heaters are very simple and efficient heaters for large, open outdoor spaces. Their internal fan draws air in through the back of the heater. The air is heated inside the unit as it burns its diesel fuel, and the warm air is blown out of the front of the heater. Direct fired diesel heaters must only be used in outdoor, well-ventilated spaces. They are popular for heating outdoor spaces on construction sites, as well as open, well-ventilated spaces such as garages, workshops and warehouses. Direct fired space heaters must not be used in indoor, enclosed or poorly-ventilated spaces.

Indirect Fired Diesel Space Heaters

Indirect fired diesel space heaters also draw air in through the back of the heater and warm the air as they burn diesel fuel. However, indirect fired diesel space heaters feature a heat exchanger and flue system, so exhaust fumes produced during combustion are expelled out of the flue on top of the heater and only clean, fume-free warm air is circulated out of the front of the heater. Indirect diesel heaters are typically placed outside the space that is to be heated, so the exhaust fumes are expelled outside, while flexible ducting is connected to the front of the heater and the clean, fume-free warm air is vented into the space through the ducting. These heaters are ideal for heating enclosed, poorly ventilated spaces on construction sites, as well as workshops, halls and marquees. Indirect fired space heaters are the industry standard marquee heaters. We offer complete marquee heater packages which give you the heater along with ducting, thermostat and flue needed to heat a marquee or other indoor space effectively and safely.

What is the Difference Between Direct & Indirect Diesel Heaters?

The key difference between direct diesel heaters & indirect diesel heaters is that indirect diesel heaters feature a flue system which expels combustion fumes out of the top of the heater, whilst direct fired diesel heaters do not. This means that indirect fired diesel heaters produce only clean, fume-free warm air, whilst direct diesel heaters circulate exhaust fumes in the warm air. Therefore direct fired diesel heaters are for heating only outdoor, well-ventilated spaces, whilst indirect diesel space heaters are for heating indoor, enclosed spaces safely.

From 1st April 2022, our suppliers will only fuel machines with white diesel. This is due to new government guidelines.

If you, as the hirer, refuel any equipment while it is in your possession, it must be with WHITE DIESEL.

YOU MUST NOT USE RED DIESEL IN HIRED MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT.

If you return a machine refuelled with rebated diesel, suppliers will have to remove and dispose of the fuel. They must also flush the tank and supply lines before they can refuel them. The process is chargeable, with no exceptions.
