Everything You Need for Good Welfare on Site
Everyone who works on a construction site must have access to toilets and facilities for washing, changing, eating, and rest. Contractors are required to provide welfare facilities and clients must ensure this happens. Clients should co-operate with contractors and help them in situations where providing welfare facilities are difficult.
The type and number of facilities you need depends on the size and type of work. You may need additional facilities, like showers, to control the risks from hazardous substances like cement, lead, or micro-organisms. workers might need a space to wash workwear to prevent the spread of dirt and grime. If you do need sanitation units, or are working in an area where there is a particular need for dry clothing, you might also need drying rooms.
You also need to consider the positioning of facilities and whether they will have to be moved during the project, if they offer access for cleaning and maintenance, and to ensure the shortest time possible to reach the facilities from the furthest part of the site. You might need generators if you are booking welfare units for remote sites.
×From 1st April 2022, our suppliers will only fuel machines with white diesel. This is due to new government guidelines.
If you, as the hirer, refuel any equipment while it is in your possession, it must be with WHITE DIESEL.
YOU MUST NOT USE RED DIESEL IN HIRED MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT.
If you return a machine refuelled with rebated diesel, suppliers will have to remove and dispose of the fuel. They must also flush the tank and supply lines before they can refuel them. The process is chargeable, with no exceptions.×An "away from depot" charge will be calculated at checkout. We recommend you have your own Hired-In Plant Insurance (HIPI). If you need this, we can introduce you to an insurance provider, talk to us.
